How do I get a quote or buy a policy?

Go to uforlife.com.my website and click on the button “Get quote”. U can then follow the steps to get a quote and buy a policy. If you are referred by an agent or an affiliate, then ‘U’ should start by clicking on the link in the email that was sent to you. If you are having problems opening the browser from your email, cut and paste the link into your browser.

Am I suitable for this product?

Protection life insurance is best suited for young adult applicants who require substantial amounts of life cover, at an affordable entry price, given that they are most likely to have young children and newly established mortgages with a need to support and fund these obligations for many years to come.

This product is not suitable for those applicant looking for a savings product that provides cash back at maturity date or a pay-out in the event of death or total and permanent disability before the maturity date is reached.

Can I get a joint quote with my spouse?

Currently, we only offer individual policies as, each life insured needs to answer a few questions.

How can I get a quote for a fixed premium?

Currently, we only offer products with yearly renewable premium.

Can I buy a policy if I stay outside Malaysia?

Yes, Malaysians with a Malaysian address residing outside Malaysia in the following countries New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Brunei or Singapore are eligible to buy a policy.

How does the Critical Illness benefit work?

This is an optional advanced payment, where you are covered for the ‘BIG 4’ Critical Illnesses (heart attack, open heart bypass surgery, stroke and cancer). If you are diagnosed with any one of these critical illnesses, before age 65, Tokio Marine will pay 25% of your cover in advance for your treatment. The remaining cover will be payable upon your death or TPD. Please note that U are eligible for only one critical illness claim per policy.

Why is only the ‘BIG 4’ covered under Critical Illness benefit?

World-wide industry experience shows that more than 80% of all the critical illnesses claims made are from the ‘BIG 4’, namely heart attack, open heart bypass surgery, stroke and cancer.

Do I need to have a medical checkup?

We keep it simple and convenient for you. We do not require any medical examinations or health check from you. All you need to do is to truthfully answer some health and lifestyle questions on our website.

Why was I offered a Personal Accident Cover?

If you have been made an offer to buy a Personal Accident Cover instead of Life Cover, it shall mean that your health or lifestyle risk does not allow you to purchase the Life Cover. If you need further information or assistance, please contact us.

Can I assign my policy?

The owner of the policy on issue is “’U’ the life insured. You can assign the ownership to someone else.

Once you are issued with a policy, changing the ownership is simple. You and the new owner would simply need to complete an ‘Assignment of Ownership Form’ which can be downloaded from the website under the tab ‘Existing Customers’

What happens to my policy if I’m moving overseas?

We cover you worldwide. All you need to take note is to continue your premium payment in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). You may pay through a Malaysian bank account or choose to pay by credit card.

Can I alter my coverage?

Yes, you certainly can. Please contact Tokio Marine Life customer care service via email and they will advise you further. However, your changes will only take effect on the next policy anniversary.

How often do I need to make payments?

You can choose to pay your premiums monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly.

Can I cancel my policy?

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return your policy to Tokio Marine Life within 15 days of receiving your policy contract to get a full refund of the premium you have paid. Your coverage will simply continue until the end of the period that you have paid for. Please note that for any cancellation, you are required to submit a copy of your identity card to the Company for verification purpose.

Would my premiums increase in the future?

Insurance premiums are based on your age, gender, smoking status, lifestyle and health status. On your policy's yearly anniversary, your premium will increase with age. Tokio Marine Life will not increase your premiums according to your health status after U buy a policy. However, the premiums are NON-GUARANTEED and Tokio Marine reserves the right to revise the rates.

Would my policy acquire cash value?

As this plan is specially designed to maximize coverage at a very affordable price, it would not acquire cash value.

I am a smoker; do I need to pay more?

Yes. Premiums for smokers are higher than those for non-smokers. The good news is that if you stop smoking, Tokio Marine Life Malaysia will lower your premium (once you're smoke-free for a consecutive 12 months, you qualify as a "non-smoker). Please contact Tokio Marine Life to complete a non-smoking declaration form.

What happens next year?

Each year on the month prior to the anniversary of your policy, Tokio Marine Life will contact you by email. Tokio Marine Life will inform you of the next annual premium and the renewal of your policy. The policy will automatically be renewed from year to year until you reach the age of 100, as long as you continue to pay the premium.

How to make a claim?

Please contact Tokio Marine Life customer service. You or your nominee will then be guided through the entire process.

How long will my coverage last?

Your life coverage will last until you are 100 years old. Your TPD and Critical Illness coverage (if any) expire at age 65, and the two times life coverage for accidental death will also end at age 65.

I am a Muslim. When a claim is made, how will it be distributed?

A Muslim nominee(s) shall receive the policy moneys payable on the death of the policy owner as an executor & not solely as a beneficiary. Any payment to the nominee shall form part of the estate of the deceased policy owner and be subject to his debts. Tokio Marine Life shall be discharged from liability in respect of the policy moneys paid. On receipt of the policy moneys, the Muslim nominee(s) shall distribute the policy moneys in accordance with Islamic law.

Will the Nominee receive the proceeds of a Critical Illness claim?

No, the nominee will not receive the proceeds of a Critical Illness claim. The nominee is only entitled for the policy moneys payable on the death of the policy owner.
